U.S. District Court Judge Dan Polster, who is supervising most of the consolidated litigation, announced from the bench Monday morning that the trial will not move forward, a court representative confirmed. Plaintiff attorneys are keeping their thoughts about a broader settlement close to the vest, saying only that talks are ongoing “to achieve a global resolution that will provide resources to abate the epidemic nationwide.” State attorneys general have been pushing for a megadeal with the drugmakers.
“The global resolution we are working to finalize will accomplish those goals while also ensuring that these companies change their business practices to prevent a public health crisis like this from ever happening again,” the attorneys general said in a statement.
These opioid drug suits should NOT be settled. Settling at the last minute with no admission of wrong-doing is the standard cover-up practice.
Cool. So who's going to prison?
'alleged'
What’s a life worth? There’s no amount of $ that can ease the pain of losing someone you loved! people that pushed opioid flood on Americans because addiction was profitable are serial killers Let’s stop pretending corporations are people and send some elitist snobs to prison?
The CEO's should be in jail.
With two counties? Man some lawyers making bank off this. Sad
Shocking! Hold them accountable!!
Some CEOs’ kids won’t get new Bentleys this year.
One that minimises any damages that they have to pay.
I’m quite sure I won’t see a dime for the years of my life that we’re lost to their drug dealing nor will the families of the several friends who died RIP. Who gets this money?
Where does the settlement money go tho?
Imagine that....
