How do your weekly earnings compare?

The median weekly earnings for an Irish worker in 2018 was €592.60, according to new findings from the Central Statistics Office .

The statistics, which were published on Friday, found that this figure had increased by 8.8% between 2011 and 2018. Broken down further, the figures show that between 2011 and 2018, median weekly earnings for male employees increased by 7.0%, compared to an increase of 7.8% for female employees. Employees in the Information and Communication sector had the highest median weekly earnings of €991.18, while the sector with the lowest median weekly earnings in 2018 was the Accommodation and Food Service sector at €313.59.This was 9.0% higher than the average for the country and 36.5% higher than the median weekly earnings for Donegal which was the lowest earning county, at €473.12.
