SAA urgently needs R2 billion capital injection The insolvent South African Airways (SAA) needs a R2 billion capital injection to pay salaries and some of its operational expenses.

Meanwhile, an insurance expert at, Christelle Colemen, has warned consumers who knowingly take up insurance to fly with airlines that are facing insolvency that they will not enjoy cover.

“If you buy the ticket and you just hope that your insurance policy will payout and the airline does go insolvent or the flights are cancelled and you can’t recover the money from the insurance and the actual airline. So it’s a very important consideration and you’re opening yourself up to quite a significant risk if you knowingly buy airline tickets or accommodation from potentially insolvent organisations.

👋🏾 shut it down n start it afresh that shall help to close those lifetime contracts n inflated costs

Lol why all this never happened 25 years back i mean seriously our country is in a mess coz of greed & incompetence

Shut it down!

What happened to R50m revenue per day?

Fire the board and the minister in charge.

Not with my tax money. Don't I have a say

🖕🏻SAA

Sell it to the highest bidder please

this ramaphosa and motsepe insists their nonsense on us i see, tell them to tell all those airlines landing on or tambo to each donate or land in their own countries, we are not here to joke when we say no to privatization

How sad is this. I flew SAA earlier this year from London to Johannesburg. The bext crew and a beautiful aircraft. World class flight. Tragic how greed of those at the top can do so much damage us they get away with it time and time again.

Anyone who flies SAA is complicit in fleecing the South African tax payers from their money. They are criminal and should be called on it by everyone else.

Are this planes flying empty

This company is always looking for financial help every now and then I think they should just close it because it's wasting money

Don’t look at us, we don’t want to pay.

Sell it

Yooh taxpayers money down the drain again

Why are people still earning salaries at SAA I wonder

Wait, didn’t we just give them like R5billion or something in that direction

Again🤣😅😅😅🤣

SA Politicians Travel gate scandal.

They fucked

Someone once laughed at Zambia Airways yet before the year ends his own airline at home is in serious crisis.

I will lend these that R2 billion, tell them to call me tomorrow, with a workable plan

Sell this thing

I've always been one of the people who said SAA has to stay coz I have friends working there but No, this is messed up now. Close it down, my friends will go overseas or other airlines.

Sell this thing no tax payers money should be wasted in this thing again.

Our country were supposed to benefit from them not other way around. Shut down this airline before it kill people. JacobZuma

Unions were celebrating the false victory of salary increases

If shutting SAA down doesn't materialize, the govt can sell it to Duduzane Zuma and the Guptas.Ace Magashule and his son can facilitate the sale.Mqxitama can then fly to India to accompany the Guptas back.

So y was the unions celebrating when they knew SAA is insolvent. Like I said. The 3 it's sell it, privatize it and get the unions out of it.

Ok

The agreement with Unions to increase salaries by 5.9% where that noney comes from😂

So this company hasn’t been profitable since 2011.....8years later we still want to bail it out? Is selling SAA not an option?

Just paid 20k for a flight recently. Where did that, and other flight fares go to? SAA is embarrassing us mahn!

SAA is gone! Done,finished...they have successfully managed to Privatise the National Airliner. Tito Jamnandas & Cyril...One of the reasons why he pulled out on the ChairmansConversation last night.

Anc goverment has destroy everthing in this Country SA its just a Mess.

Actually SAA doesn’t make profit from the aviation operations or what?

Let it die...it needs to be euthanased...we can't afford to pay for Mbalula's opulence anymore!!! MbalulaFikile

Lets sell SAA to dubai emirates then we can start legistimacy ..from there

Bayasdakelwa labo iyaphi lemali as if khona abagibela mangobe

Yes indeed lets SAA go down ..then we can give the country to the white man

that’s where things like this are sold.

Crisis crisis

I agree with Tito, this thing must be shut down and start a new airline!

Sell it !!! We are tired of these financial injections

GovernmentZA shut this thing down, we can't afford to be bailing it out every financial year.

Black Friday discount from the World Bank

Yup. And it's going to be more..tks to the idiots from numsa

SAA is starting to sound like a drug addict

It needs turpentine up its ass!! To get it moving.

Shocking how a thriving airline which was the pride of SA had been destroyed by the government. This happened through mismanagement and looting - no accountability. Now they want more tax money from the skeletons that remain from tax payers 😥😭😥😭😥

I agree with Minister Mboweni SAA must be sold we are tired of bailing out this company it's profitable

How do we know this is true. This company has not produced official financial statements for two years
