Marlboro cigarette giant gets into pot business with $2.4 billion stake in Canada’s Cronos

Don’t get it. Cigarettes have been demonized. They are cancer causing, lung damage causing killers (I agree). So they are going From one vice to another. Is this a way to ‘clean up their act’? WHY is it that k to smoke weed but not cigarettes? And the disgusting smell ?
