SAN DIEGO – For years, water infrastructure in California has awaited critical repair.
In the midst of perpetual drought and water unavailability, the state has been unable to repair the storage facilities that store water when it does finally rain. KUSI’s Logan Byrnes was joined by Assemblyman Vince Fong to discuss water infrastructure in the state and in the county.

Really why isn’t there a set of pipes that transfer water to a reservoir that could also be opened to release water either direction instead of it running back to the ocean.

CA was more interested in stealing water from the eastern states and draining Lake Mead because it was cheaper for Californians. For decades CA has been dumping runoff from rain into the ocean. They don't care about anyone else other than themselves.

I lived in San Diego for 10 years, 1987 to 1997, this was a problem back then, rain Season is Jan and Feb, every year this is an issue, nothing new, CA 4 seasons, Fire, Flood, Landslide, Earthquake.
AZ captures 90% of its water while CA sends its out to the ocean. The damn Biden WH is cutting AZ’s share of the Colorado River significantly while allowing CA to continue at full throttle 🤬

Sweetwater reservoir in san diego full and topped two years ago. Drained off last year vegetation line then totally drained about 2 months ago. Website says climate change is the main reason with a little note and maintenance. Now is the Time to defund all the bureaucracies!

The Sites reservoir will break ground in 2024. California has 1,500 dams and 1,300 reservoirs. Water storage experts know the best sites are already taken. Each additional will be more expensive than the next and generally yield less water.
