For more than a decade, Kris Agrawal built a reputation as a reliable businessman in the suburbs of western Sydney. He drew on the trust of his clients, and his strong community connections, to grow his construction company and investment schemes.

But the shocking collapse of his empire has left more than 150 mum and dad investors reeling and a trail of debt totalling more than $60 million, as Emily Baker and Raveen Hunjan report.
