Preservation Austin invites you on a nostalgic journey with first ever Legacy Business Mon

Preservation Austin, a leading advocate for historic preservation in Austin, is thrilled to announce the official launch of their major new program,The Legacy Business Month Passport initiative invites Austinites to explore and celebrate the city's iconic local businesses to preserve the cultural institutions that have shaped Austin's identity.

To kick off the 2023 Legacy Business Month, Preservation Austin will host a celebratory event at Zilker Taproom on Thursday, October 5, from 6 pm to 9 pm.The event will feature a limited-edition Legacy Business Month beer crafted by Zilker Brewing Company, custom prints by GRZ Monsters, and music by Queer Vinyl Collective.

The month-long celebration will culminate in a wrap party at The Historic Victory Grill on Monday, October 30, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., where participants will have a chance to win prizes based on the number of stamps collected. Other cities, such as San Francisco and San Antonio, have established pioneering legacy business programs to safeguard and uphold their cities' identities.
