Renault Merger Plan for Nissan Triggers New Tension

Renault SA wants to propose a merger with Nissan Motor Co., bringing officially onto the bargaining table a plan that has angered Nissan, inflamed international tensions and contributed to the prosecution of Carlos Ghosn.

Renault recently asked its bankers to approach Nissan to lay out a plan for a holding company that would combine the two partners, according to people familiar with the proposal. Nissan shareholders and Renault shareholders would each receive about half of the new company, which would have a roughly equal...Carlos Ghosn, the former chairman of Nissan and Renault, assailed Nissan executives and said he is innocent, in a video released by his lawyers and was recorded before his April arrest.

If AbeShinzo government cannot save Nissan from foreigners you are a total failure.

Nissan doesnt have to merge with anyone ..Does it?
