But exactly a year ago 49 stallholders who traded from the vast indoor hall there were thrown into uncertainty after the discovery of RAAC in the roof. Traders were given just a few hours notice that the building was to be closed and since that day the doors to the indoor hall have remained firmly shut for safety reasons.

The options include refurbishing the hall, building a new one or developing a ‘Preston style’ covered market.
