Bryant Park’s iconic holiday market reopened two days after a fire ripped through one of its vendor stalls. Despite a swift recovery effort, some businesses were impacted more than others. A 19-year-old carousel worker estimated the carousel lost thousands of dollars on the day of the fire due to its shutdown. The fire, which was deemed accidental and caused by cooking oil, started as a trash fire and spread to a 6-foot-by-40-foot kiosk.
While some vendors, like Babka Bailout, were minimally affected, the carousel worker reported a significant financial loss.
