KOTA KINABALU: Local trading company Askera Sdn Bhd on Friday (July 17) handed over RM50,000 in financial assistance for Covid-19 to the Sabah government.

Its chairman Datuk Tan Chong Chin handed over the mock cheque to state secretary Datuk Safar Untong in a ceremony at the state administration centre here.

Tan said the financial relief is to show gratitude to the state government for their efforts to curb the spread Covid-19."As a Sabahan , we will help as much as we can. We hope to see other companies in Sabah stepping up and doing their part and help because there are so many impacted by Covid-19," he told reporters.

Tan added that they would leave it up to the state government to decide how best to use the financial assistance.
