Kamala Harris supports $2,000 monthly stimulus checks to help Americans claw out of pandemic ruin — and she's long backed plans for Democrats to give people more money

as his vice presidential running-mate on Tuesday, putting on the Democratic ticket a former campaign rival with economic plans further to his left.

"[Harris] is not only highly sensitive to challenges in affordable housing and the inadequate income growth for low and middle-income households, she's absolutely put out some of the most ambitious and detailed proposals that would not just begin to tackle these issues but address them," Indivar Dutta-Gupta, co-executive director of the Georgetown Center for Poverty and Inequality, told Business Insider.

Though it wasn't a campaign centerpiece, the economic anchor of Harris' platform was a middle-class tax-cut plan called. It sought to provide $3,000 to individuals earning below $50,000 through a refundable tax credit, doubled to $6,000 for married couples. The legislation has a hefty price tag of $2.8 trillion over a decade, and Harris said it would be financed by repealing the 2017 Republican tax cuts.

The bill is a European-style monthly cash allowance for children, providing $3,600 annually for children younger than 6 and $3,000 yearly for kids aged 6 to 16. It'd phase out for households earning above $100,000 a year.

Ok, just remember we in debt big time. But it’s a good idea nevertheless. Don’t scare the business community, reach out to CEOs, investors and Bankers

Banks get trillions. We get eggshells

Free money for everyone. Why should anyone have to work, ever?!?!? Government should support us all, forever.

JoeBiden and KamalaHarris want to get people used to those handouts. Then they can take away your rights. 'oh you want this money...give me your guns, etc..'. That's the first step. Open your eyes people.

Hmm, forced job/income loss but yet is the saving grace that’s there to “help” .....the boxcar that’s “for your safety and best interest” awaits you.

Silver lining, once the corrupt politicians completely bankrupt and ruin the United States, no one will want to come in, thereby completely solving immigration issues.

Of course she does, because she’s a leftist radical. Easy to give away money that is not yours.

*Venezuela intensifies*

You mean keep people from working

Stop stimulus checks. Only money to unemployed. Charging more debt is unacceptable.

Why stop at $2000? $20,000 would be a nicer figure. Talk is cheap anyway.
