Asian equities extended gains on Tuesday and the dollar slipped, with investor sentiment supported by Chinese data and optimism about COVID-19 vaccines.

Japan’s Nikkei shed 0.8%, while South Korean shares rose 0.3% and Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index added 0.1%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 1.2% and the S&P 500 rose 1.3% while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite added 1.9%.
