The Market Traders’ Association of Nigeria has directed its members across the country to comply strictly with the recent presidential directive on COVID-19 guidelines to reduce the spread of the virus at markets.

President Muhammadu Buhari had, on Wednesday, signed the COVID-19 Health Protection Regulations, 2021, as part of efforts to curtail the spread of the disease in the country.Mr Abass warned that ”any trader, who failed, neglected or refused to enforce the provisions of the regulations”, would be subjected to disciplinary action by the association.

He said members should also maintain physical distance while at the market and wash their hands before and after attending to customers.
