REA Group economist Anne Flaherty says investors are coming back to the property market with lending figures revealing the “largest jump” in investor loans since 2003 took place in March.

“On the realestate.com.au website we track inquiry of our buyers by buyer type and we saw investor inquiry collapse mid last year down to 11 per cent of the total,” she said. “But over the last few months we’ve steadily seen the proportion of inquiry coming from investors rise. “Now the ABS released their latest lending figures earlier this week and what we saw from those figures was a 13 per cent jump over March in loans going to investors.

Stop giving out investment loans .. first time buyers and young families need to be priority for mortgages.
