Stock futures were steady ahead of a slew of earnings due later from big names such as Google parent Alphabet, Microsoft and Visa. Follow the latest markets updates.

In recent trading:Contracts tied to the S&P 500 added 0.2%, while those tied to the Dow industrials were flat. A rally has built in recent days, with the Dow gaining for 11 straight sessions.Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index gained 4.1%, while the Shanghai Composite rose 2.1%. Elsewhere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 edged lower, while the Stoxx Europe 600 added 0.2%.The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note rose to 3.890%, from 3.855% Monday.

Results from General Electric, General Motors, Raytheon Technologies, Spotify and Verizon are due before the opening bell. Alphabet, Microsoft and Snap are due after the close.The Federal Reserve will begin its two-day policy meeting. Data on the U.S. housing market is due before markets open, followed by the Conference Board’s consumer-confidence reading for July at 10 a.m. ET.
