TOKYO (AP) — Asian shares mostly rose in cautious trading Friday after Wall Street drifted to a quiet close on worries about a too-hot U.S. job market. Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 fell 0.3% to finish at 30,994.67. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.4% to 6,954.20. South Korea's Kospi edged up 0.2% to 2,408.73. TOKYO — Asian shares mostly rose in cautious trading Friday after Wall Street drifted to a quiet close on worries about a too-hot U.S. job market.

“The sentiment of unease prevails as the market awaits the release of the U.S. employment report later today,” said Anderson Alves at ActivTrades. Rivian Automotive sank 22.9% after the electric vehicle maker said it will raise $1.5 billion by selling debt that could later convert into stock. A recent pullback in the price of oil has offered some relief on the inflation front for both U.S. households and the Federal Reserve.
