The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said a total of 14 buildings were affected in the inferno that occurred at the Dosunmu Market on Tuesday. LSFRS Director, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed this in a statement after firefighters successfully contained the major fire incident which saw two structures fully collapse and two partially collapse.
“Swift firefighting operations by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service which has now moved to damping down strategy, mitigating all threats and ensuring public safety.” The LSFRS boss also urged the public to handle combustible materials with caution to prevent future incidents.
