This hybrid event was organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Stratbase Albert Del Rosario Institute in partnership with organizations like the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines, the Philippine Nickel Industry Association , and the Philippine Mining and Exploration Association , to name a few.
After all, mining is temporary land use, and we have the wherewithal to alleviate the effects of our activities on the environment and to fully rehabilitate mine sites for further productive uses. Secretary Frederick Go, the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs, mentioned that mining holds the greater potential to be the key driver of the economy, as he gave five steps on why to invest in mining in the Philippines.
The milestone event was capped by a ceremonial signing of a declaration of partnerships and policy reform agreements.
