Shari Franke, daughter of Ruby Franke, the Utah mother accused of child abuse, is speaking out for the first time about her experiences. In her memoir, 'The Diary of a Mormon Daughter,' Franke details the physical and psychological abuse she suffered at her mother's hands, as well as the unusual relationship between Ruby and her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt.
Franke alleges that Ruby's physical abuse lessened after Hildebrandt moved into their home in 2022, but it became more psychological, causing lasting damage. Franke also describes sensing a 'weird vibe' from Hildebrandt and her mother, noting that she found it strange for a therapist to live in her client's home. Franke's account comes after Ruby Franke and Hildebrandt were arrested in September 2023 on charges of aggravated child abuse.
