Share transfer between 2 Chinese news veterans questioned in suit over S$990,000 'loan' for failed business

Chinese businessman Ren Xin Wu is suing Ms Lee Kuan Fung, a former veteran news editor from SPH, and Mr Chua Chim Kang, the head of Chinese news at Mediacorp, to recover his purported loan.

Chua Chim Kang and Lee Kuan Fung on Jan 10, 2025 and Ren Xin Wu on Nov 12, 2024 outside the Supreme Court. to recover money he put into a failed Mandarin-language business questioned the authenticity of a share transfer agreement between the duo on Friday .

At the same time, liquidators for Homing Holdings are suing Ms Lee for allegedly breaching her fiduciary duties as director of the company, with Goldciti as a second defendant. Earlier in the week, Mr Chua and Ms Lee testified about an agreement they signed in February 2018 to transfer Mr Chua's shares in Homing Holdings to Ms Lee, the Straits Times reported.

Mr Chua joined Mediacorp in 2018, but was previously from SPH, holding roles such as managing editor of its Chinese Media Group.
