Shoprite never used to sell rotis. So how did Ashraf Kader convince the retailer to supply his product and grow his company to the point that it now has a turnover of roughly R450 000 a month?

DURBAN - Ashraf Kader , the owner of Mia’s Food, nationally supplies white flour roti, wholewheat roti, white flour naan and onion-flavoured naan to Shoprite.

So how did Kader convince the mainstream retailer to supply his product and grow his company to the point that it now has a turnover of roughly R450 000 a month?

Respect and admiration to Ashraf Kader and his family. Committment, perseverance, dedication and hard work paid off and made them successful. This was not an overnight success. Took years of perseverance... it paid off when Shoprite gave them an opportunity.

SACCIza BusinessUnitySA WeActForChange it should be compulsory for business to at least buy 70% local products, importing is counter growth, empowerment, employment, we would make it law.

It's part of complying with BEE procurement targets,we all know Shoprite_SA is a racist company, those of us who've had the disadvantage of working there have seen how they will get a grade 12 white boy and appoint him as a supervisor while experienced Africans are sidelined.
