This would benefit top wallets because it both removes competition and pushes more consumers to use their services.
This consolidation could ultimately mean that new regulations aimed at forcing Apple Pay to open iOS devices' mobile payments technology to a broader set of providers won't do much to the wallet's dominance. New rules could even the playing field for third-party digital wallets operating on iOS devices.
