The satellite communications market was largely static for the twenty years prior to 2016, at which point SpaceX and OneWeb received FCC approval to launch their first few batches of LEO satellites, per GSMA Intelligence. tech giants Amazon and Facebook — recognize this disruptive potential and have invested accordingly.
