Low-wage workers are to be hit the hardest by the work stoppages associated with the quarantine measures intended to curtail the pandemic. to a 60-day pact with provisions to waive coronavirus-related late fees, this would not be enough to offset the broader, long-term consumer liquidity crunch that will accompany a prolonged period of unemployment.

Similarly, adjusting phone payments plans to have lighter up-front installments could help ease the near-term financial burden, as consumers navigate the uncertain conditions of life amid the pandemic.
