government should reduce tax on tobacco instead of raising it. when higher quality tabacco cigarette sells cheap, who will buy counterfeit or illegal tabacco cigarettes? increasing tax will only increase demand for those illegal cigarettes that sells for just rm5 at roadside.

It will just increase the syndicate of smuggling cigarettes. I strongly oppose this idea. Just let go of the fuel subsidy. Increase income tax and subsidise basic goods. Stop importing rice and support local farmers. Subsidies animal feed or better still invest in it.
