GEORGE TOWN: All wet markets in the state will be sanitised frequently and adhere strictly to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the conditional movement control order (MCO), says Jagdeep Singh Deo on Friday (Nov 13).

The local government committee chairman said the Taman Free School wet market which was rumoured to have a Covid-19 positive case would be sanitised in accordance with the SOPs, but would remain open,” he said, adding that the Health Ministry had yet to confirm a case there.

He added that all wet markets in the state would be sanitised regularly to ensure the safety of market-goers.Earlier, there was talk that a suspected Covid-19 case had been linked to Taman Free School Market and that the market was still open despite this development.
