Rise in long-term unemployment rate due in part to uneven labour market recovery: Economists

SINGAPORE — Economists said an uptick in the proportion of residents who have been unemployed for at least 25 weeks, revealed in official figures out Thursday (Dec 17), could be attributed to the Covid-19 pandemic hitting some sectors worse than others.
