Sources told The Times Trump added Bannon to his list of executive clemency grants at the "last minute."
After the election, Bannon was named chief strategist and senior counselor to the president, a role he held for eight months. He left in August 2017 to return to Breitbart, the conservative news website he co-founded in 2016. The campaign raised more than $25 million for the project. But all four were later arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors alleged that Bannon and others defrauded donors out of $25 million as part of a fundraising campaign they said was going toward building Trump's wall along the US's southern border with Mexico.
Bannon was arrested in Westbrook, Connecticut on a luxury yacht owned by Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui. He pleaded not guilty.
