Somethings going really wrong

So you mean you don’t need to flood the labor market with immigrants?

Give them stock options too and guess what..!

I'm a 21 year veteran truck driver. The reason JB has to offer that kind of money is because noone wants to drive over the road anymore. Hours of service, ELD mandate, and shortage of safe parking have made life on the road unbearable.

It's a crazy idea, but it might just be crazy enough to work!

'' LOL you don't deserve that account name.

Cool. Now explain what happens when you have an over abundance of workers.

SteveScalise Only one word for the Group Of Putin,,,DUH!

Duh

I am sorry this is not real until the ladies at The View comment on it.

And to think some say innovation is dead

Is this the fabled basic economics I keep hearing about?

HOLY SMOKES, amazon HAVE YOU SEEN THIS SHIT?

Bloomberg “business” Hey guys, check this out! Raising wages seems to be attracting employees! 🙄

Slow news day, uh? 😂😂😂Econ101

So capitalism is working...? Next week; Water is still wet.

Ya think?

Most likely the shortage is because millenials don't want to become truck drivers...duh!

Can we have trump in the UK please

Duh

Another win for...

Yeah but are there (sometimes) free cookies in the break room?

WHAT? Why didn't they just import cheap drivers from Mexico or India or someplace?

Driver shortage has always been a problem. Crappy pay for a crappy job. Most people can't handle.

Does this mean they brought their wages up to match other trucking co.'s. When I was driving they were a lesser paying company relying on new driver trainee hires. I wonder how their new pay rates compare to other companies.

It takes a genius ... 😬😃 US andA

Impossible!!!

Now they will advocate for bringing more immigrants to push the prices down. Then they will paint people who object it as 'deplorable' and 'racist'.

I know what...we can call it supply and demand! And demonstrate how it allocates scare resources! Brilliant! Seriously, wages have to rise, finally, because excess worker supply slack has finally been used up, and exacerbated by the somewhat successful barring of immigrants.

Plus the slow down of illegals! Has always been the case but the Democrats would weasel some new BS to allow more in to keep wages low! Why unions support Democrats Ill never understand!

If only there were some fundamental equation that could explain this phenomenon

kausmickey Just saw food company offering $70k with benefits for truck drivers

Wow, this is so strange how this works!

Increasing incomes/wages imagine that. What a novel idea.

Every time you hear 'job market', translate to 'labor market'. Then, wonders like this don't seem so mysterious. Jobs are not the product, as much as 'job producers' want to have us believe they are.

Maybe if some of the companies bitching about not being able to fill their available positions paid a living wage?....just sayin

As opposed to what? You guys always act as if raising pay for people who actually work for a living is some kind of bullshit that the stock holders will NEVER go for.

'Here's why that's a problem.'

Bloomberg just now discovering that offering higher wages attracts labor says a lot.

Shocking!

NateRex Better than coaching.

Eco 101

No kidding, economics 001. Low supply of recruits putting upward pressure on wages. Who knew advertising or paying the same wages as previous wouldn't be as successful, causing labor force issues? Make me chief economist jbhunt360 now.

Holy shit!!!!! Amazing!!!!

Wierd must be a fluke. Or did you mean to type 'raise the CEO's wages.'

Ya don't say

That brilliant insight tho

Whaaaaaaa? Whodda thunk?

Duh! Supply meets demand. Ever heard of this 🙄?

Funny how that works

No shit? Who’d have thunk it? Oh right, liberals, because we’re smart like that. Hoarding and austerity DON’T WORK.

This is new ground in US

paying employees? in this economy

you are gonna get in trouble for posting this

a funny thing about capitalism is that capitalists are too dumb to even figure out how to work it

it's just temporary, layoff is coming up soon for these drivers to do something new/different (or however way you want to look at it):

LindaMasonJar Free market economics work when the government stays out.

Who knew

gee fucken whiz

No fucking shit it's called supply and demand -_-

byHeatherLong Weird.

you mean like supply and demand? what a concept

wait, so you're saying that when supply is low, demand is high, wages go up? Wow! Does it work the other way around too?

Democrats appalled.

Capitalism works!

Duh...

SteveScalise Obviously. Low unemployment means wages increase to attract workers. High unemployment means wages decrease due to worker's desperation to pay their bills.

Clinton took our Jerbs. Obama said they weren't coming back. Trump's hauling their asses back and we're redistributing global large cap stock $$$ into local small cap stock $$$. Liberals love redistribution and so should love this. MAGA

SteveScalise 👍

19,000 truck drivers just scored up to $100 million from one of America’s biggest trucking companies — and it's the latest federal court win by truckers for better labor practicesTruck drivers have been fighting in the nation's courts to receive minimum wage and other labor benefits. Good news What!! Are you serious? Lets do a little math here: 100 million divided by 19,000 is roughly $5300, divide that by at least a third for the dirtbags lawyers and they get about 3500. Most class action lawsuits dont change anything except make lawyers rich and consumers poor.
