“We’re in talks with the city, businesses and residents about whether we can have more of a central waste system,” said Walley Wargolet of the improvement society. “Can we get away from having 25 bins in each of the alleyways to make them more palatable to people walking through them?”Charles Guan reimagined Trounce Alley between the Cordova and Water street sides of the Woodward’s parkade into a brightly painted strip with grass, cobblestones and businesses.

So it did.

Wargolet said there are now about 3,500 people in the area, with a mix of market and low-income housing . There are about 550 businesses.
