The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra performs three works based on children’s stories and fairy tales. Michael Abels, who composed the scores for Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” and “Us,” will narrate his piece “Frederick’s Fables,” which is based on Leo Lionni’s children’s books. The show also features Igor Stravinsky’s “The Firebird Suite,” which was featured in Fantasia 2000, and Maurice Ravel’s “Mother Goose Suite.
