Ethiopians living in the Eastern Cape village of Qhumanco say they have lost their brother after a shop owner was robbed and killed. This event has sparked tensions in the area.

The Ethiopians say they do not want the situation to escalate into further violence. A group of Ethiopians allegedly raided the community, armed with guns and pangas.

They allegedly kidnapped three boys and allegedly tortured and killed one of them. Villagers are now demanding that the foreign nationals leave their area. Ethiopian community member and spokesperson, Jacky Adniw says, “I think we should work together to solve this problem because this shop belongs to the community. We have to have a relationship with the community. I think that both sides are wrong. I feel bad and angry.”

We get robbed all the time 🤷🏻

It's time now that they must go back to there country

mabahambe labantu. finish and klaar

But your style of reporting on these issues is so nonsensical

Tjeban

You must tell them this is not their country...south africa belongs to south africans only

For whatever the reason, you can't go around promoting violence, especially if this isn't your country; you had to go and seek justice and protection from the authorities. Retaliation and killing exercabate the inferno.

They have Guns, they killed a South African, and South African News phrases the story to the Ethiopians advantage… When their brother was robbed & murdered did they say (ow lets open a case?)

Did they open a case?

They must go back home

But why can't these people go home peacefully....why are they fighting their way no matter what in SA?

Safm report that Ethiopians killed a local boy aswell. Report fairly

They blame our people and their brother was killed by Zimbabweans finish and klaar.
