POLITICS NIGERIA reports that SABMiller Brewery ownership scandal in Anambra State had stirred a conflict of interest concerns following allegations linking former governor Obi to a stake in the firm which was established 10 years ago. This matter against Obi, has been in the spotlight since 2012.
Obi is accused of fraudulently financing the purported government-owned company with state funds when his company has an interest in the group.aired on Tuesday and monitored by POLITICS NIGERIA, Senator Umeh defended Obi. “He didn’t invest state fund in his business. He did not. Maybe the state partnered in a business he also has interest. It’s a share,” he said.He added: “The conflict would be if the state fund was diverted to his advantage.
