The former health minister mooted a National Health Care Fund which would also pool the annual healthcare spending of pension funds, private health insurance companies and households.
Meanwhile, quality and fair-priced services from both the public and private sectors could be purchased with the fund, added Dr Dzulkefly. Following this, Khairy said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob had agreed for public healthcare expenditure to be gradually increased until it reaches 5% of the GDP.
