After two ranked San Diego teams lose Friday, No. 3 Warhawks put one in the W column

After a disastrous Friday at the Honor Bowl where two of San Diego’s best teams were beaten up by a pair Arizona’s best, it was up to Madison to uphold the honor of the county.

“We knew what Arizona did Friday, but that was yesterday,” said Madison quarterback Reggie Jackson. “We wanted to represent San Diego, but we couldn’t get caught up in all that. We needed to play our game.” “To be honest, this might be my breakout game,” Jackson said. “But I can’t be satisfied. I think there is more in there — individually and as a team. Coach Jackson preaches that we’re a brotherhood. So far this season, we’ve played like it.”While the Madison offense was superb, the defense was dominant, sacking Desert Vista quarterback Braxton Thomas six times, two by Makhai L’Viavia.Thomas completed 12 of 28 passes for 146 and was intercepted by Isaac Turner to clinch the shutout.
