KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 ― Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has urged cooperatives to grab opportunities to invest in public listed companies.
He said cooperatives need to be bold and creative in their abilities to develop new business models to explore green technology in line with the current shift in interest of the world community. “The cooperative movement is one of the 'growth' engines contributing to the country's gross domestic product that can transform and empower the local community,” he said.
“The latest economic indicators underscore that the country's economic recovery is improving, and this provides a positive sign to micro, small and medium enterprises and cooperatives,” he said.
