GM gets into the energy business by using EV batteries for new products and services that can power your home

GM said the new division, called GM Energy, will help customers transfer electricity from an EV or battery-storage box to a home or building, as a way to protect against power outages and transfer electricity to the grid during off-peak times.

Batteries STORE energy, they don't produce it. Energy must be produced and then stored in them to provide energy. Every notice that hazmat label on any products w lithium batteries? Yeah, let's use of massive batteries.. and then bury them in the ground. Lunacy. SMFH

How is this better for emergency use than a natural gas generator, which can power your home indefinitely during a power outage?
