London and the south east saw the most acute house price falls and there was gloom over sales in the months ahead, said RICS.

You always blame brexit for everything. But the housing market in many markets is about to crash. China parts of Australia parts of USA are all over inflated with bad loans. This could be the best opportunity for first time buyers in 20 years

Brexits blamed for everything & it hasn't been implemented yet! Scaremongers, please get a life! 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Estate agents in food bank queues next?

It was because of high demand fuelled by high net migration that caused prices to be out of reach for many of the UK’s existing citizens- that’s one of a whole host of reasons why the leave vote won the referendum...

I blame brexit for stubbing my toe on the bed leg this morning. Well the wife was not around so I gotta blame something.

The building site I’m on is all sold off plan 152 houses, and they can’t get them out of the ground quick enough.

Maybe it’s Stamp duty, then fees from to estate agents then Property Surveyors, Conveyancing on a 750k home buying and selling old one I am looking at £40k

Load of bull any excuses to blame Brexit

No they are to expensive, 500,000 grand for a poor 4 bed detached house around here!

Pretty sure that’s a good thing

Here we go ...

Good

Zzzzzzzzz

stop your LIES

Good.they are all over priced.

Not so sure its Brexit, I suspect its more likely this bloody incompetent government who are failing its citizens miserably

PMSL at all the brexit loons responding in complete denial

'House prices hit 6 year low, house prices still astronomically out of touch with reality'

Nooooo that’s so bad, must be true if sky are saying it.

That’s good news now we might be able to buy

Rubbish prices year on year are rising - 400k population increase a year ensures that

Rubbish......scaremongering again !

How's brexit to blame. We have not had brexit with a remainer running things.

As a Chartered Surveyor myself, whilst Brexit plays a small part in this uncertainty there is a consensus amongst my peers and the banks I work with that the changes that were made to SDLT on buy to let property is the main concern driving people away from the residential market.

Is everything that isnt doing as it should being blamed on Brexit!? This whole situation is ludicrous!

The housing market was going down before brexit you idiots. When people started realising what a con it is. Sad sad sky.

I didn’t have a poo for 3days is that Brexit or exit to blame

Now the houses are suffering. Oh dear lord. When will this nightmare end.... Sarcasm included. May contain nuts. Always read the label. If symptoms persist consult your doctor.....

That’s good as now the rich can buy them for a cheaper price & still rent them out at a ridiculous price! 🙄

BULL!! Over inflated prices by a money grabbing GREED RIDDEN SOCIETY.

Weren’t we worried about house prices being unaffordable a few years ago?

It's called stamp duty, and the collapse of the rental market because of HMG policy. Nothing to do with Brexit you idiots....

Fantastic news hopefully a few people can get out of the toxic rental market!!!!

Brexit has been 2 years in the making Who's good at math then

6 year low? In London maybe, house being built and sold on new estates 450k+ very affordable lol

Houses are totally unaffordable

The Tory will blame Labour

This is good news for those who where struggling to buy houses !

Or your headline could read: Houses becoming affordable, thank you Brexit. Wouldn't suit your agenda though, would it SKY?

So really you are only talking about London and the south of england..........Well that makes a change 😂

This was inevitable given economic uncertainty and an expensive asset class. I am more concerned of the tweets of people who don’t see this correlation and call it lies. That is worryingly obtuse!

Nobody can afford to get on the ladder! Nothing to do with Brexit just the lack of truly affordable housing and high rent rates!

Not Brexit, just people being priced out of the market. Houses aren’t affordable. Stop help to buy schemes and then you’ll see realistic prices in the market. If I can’t afford something I don’t buy it. Our young will have mortgages into their 70’s due to HTB schemes. Not right

Its a natural cycle . Lazy journalism once again. As if there's never been a housing slump before!!!

It's the peoples vote threat that's lowering wages, house prices and making EU nationals leave the UK

Oh bore off you pathetic Pro EU puppets!! Yeah ‘cos leaving the EU is going to decide whether I join the property ladder or not!! You and TheSun go hand in hand for reporting utter BS.

So what was blamed for rank, disgraceful, out of touch house price inflation that has left millions in rental traps while the rich get richer and the young have no chance? 😳

Houses are overpriced, people are stretched financially paying astronomical rents with no room to save money. There will be a point when the bubble bursts because people are simply not in a financial position to buy. Nothing to do with Brexit Sky!!

What Brexitt i aint heard anything🙄🙄

Good for first time buyers then, 👍🏼👍🏼

Good for furst time buyers then, 👍🏼

I had to de ice my van this morning I blame that on brexit

Because the unskilled, uneducated migrants and Eastern Europeans flooding into the UK had been buying homes? 😂🤣

Is that the sound of the bottom of a barrel being scraped?

Brexit hasn’t happened yet.

Great let’s hope people can afford to buy now instead of lining the pockets of estate 🏡 Agents Who Force Up house prices so they get a bigger cut.

fbollocks giveitarest

What brexit lol

Load of crap

Ha ha cheap journalism, if that’s what you can call it! Any ‘bad’ news.... let’s blame it on Brexit, utterly pathetic

Yeah, blame it on Brexit 😂🤣😂🤣

You let 400,000 people into the country every year and don’t build any houses.. you don’t need to be Albert Einstein to work out house prices

Good news for all the younger people who want to get on the housing ladder.

just a reminder the same people telling us we need to stay in europe were the same people telling us we needed to join the Euro

This is also due to the death of the buy-to-let market due to taxation rule changes that makes it unattractive for non institutional investors

Or just maybe after 10yrs of virtually stagnant wage growth outside London yet astronomical house price growth in same period, people just cannot afford them. Maybe time for a reality check in the housing market

you sure it's not the millennials fault
