OVER the last month I have been reading a lot of articles on unrelated topics and areas but seem to have a recurring theme. There are articles I have read in the last few months from the Financial Times — 'The Degrees Teaching Leaders to Translate Technology' , The Economist — 'Why Economists are Flocking to Silicon Valley' and from even earlier but I never got to discussing it — 'Chief Executives are Weirder than Ever' .
Makes sense then to hire economists and people with the skills needed to complement and accomplish the mission of success with profits.Digital skillsThe Financial Times article interestingly discussed the opposite. How economists are learning tech and coding as this is needed in financial instruments and trading these days. It quotes a derivatives broker — 'But Trenkic soon realized that to pursue a successful career in financial markets he needed to acquire digital knowledge and skills.
