State regulators have approved an average 8.4% decrease in workers’ compensation insurance rates in 2023.

The Office of Insurance Regulation issued an order Friday that approved an average 8.4 decrease proposed by the National Council on Compensation Insurance, which makes annual rate filings for workers’ compensation insurers. The order marks the sixth consecutive year that average rates have decreased, according to state officials.
