OCEAN CITY, N.J. (AP) — It's just one cable meant to bring electricity from an offshore wind farm to a former coal-burning power plant in southern New Jersey, but it symbolizes a big challenge facing the renewable energy industry.

“The fact is, realizing these benefits requires the construction of onshore infrastructure that allows the power to come ashore and feed into the electrical grid,” he said.

She cites concerns about damage to the environment, the possibility of higher rates being charged to consumers, and the general lack of certainty about what is a brand new industry in this country. “Cable landings have become a focal point of opposition to offshore wind’s progress,” he said. “Avoiding these conflicts in the first place should be a top industry priority.”

Maryland has similar language in its offshore wind law exempting underground power cables coming ashore from a prohibition on construction work on beaches in a certain zone.

hard to please everybody....

I wonder how many of those locals voted for Democrats during midterms. New rules: If you vote Democrat you don’t get to complain about wind farms in your vicinity.

I hear that the residents at Mar-a-Loco would like to host some offshore wind turbines.

If the turbines are over the horizon there will not be a negative impact unless in fishing areas.

Blowback - I see what you did there, AP.

As it should. These wind farms should be torn down.

How come they put blowjob in the title?

It’s astroturfed by the GQP

blowback lol
