Facebook's fall from grace hasn’t been defined by deviation from the practices that made it one of the most valuable companies in the world. The scandals that have pummeled the company in 2018 have largely kept with the fundamentals of Facebook's business model.

Dems done mind that as long as they benefit and their allies are doing it.

Geez netflix are you paying attention? You are culpable.

If it’s free, you’re the product. This should come as a surprise to no one.

pnjaban Orwell is turning over in his grave. Amazing how many people I know that have no problem handing over personal information to high tech, including fingerprint data. Don't worry though, these companies will keep it safe and won't share it.

Yes sir, that’s exactly right. I wonder what China is going to do with all that information.

Oh, I thought the LA Times had disappeared. Where’ve you been?

Facebook won’t even share names and emails of generous donors that give via FB keeping nonprofits from even saying thank you. But...will sell your likeness to the highest bidder in a heart beat.

Where I come from that’s known as blackmail.

Truth.

Maybe Zuckerberg should hire DJT and his clown cabinet. Can't get any worse.

There’s an option. Don’t use Facebook.

What an off concept. Why people use this social platform bewilders me.

He looks stressed in this picture ? I guess he should be though .

And be pure evil

Done with FB

Collecting personal information and cloned it

Definitely time to close my FB account. NewYearsResolution

If it’s in the user Agreement signed by users it’s perfectly legal. (You know, the Agreement you click saying you’ve read it and agree to the conditions when you click it) If this shocks anyone they are dumber than a rock.

Duh

Satan

I have also wondered these last few years about sites and apps you can begin using through the option of logging in using Facebook. I have done it because it is easy, fast. But what am I doing?

I work seasonally doing UPS shipping for a chocolate maker. On days the computer is slow, while awaiting the final dialog box where you click PRINT, among URLs shown loading will be, briefly, one containing facebook. Had struck me as odd...getting curiouser by the day.

Regulation is the answer.

pnjaban As does Google. Also beware of DNA 23 and me, it IS a data gathering service just like facebook and google and instagram etc.

longdrivesouth Facebook is not a public utility. It’s free to connect with other people, even make business deals on. Yet the public feigns anger over privacy? Have some personal accountability people.

No shit. It kills me that people are shocked about this. The same people buying Google and Amazon listening devices for their homes.

pnjaban I mean geez...look at how little Adolph Zuckerturd started...he screwed the TWINS! WAKE UP AMERICA!

Equally important as American we should be able to push a button that ops us out of the Facebooks of the world 'Sharing' i.e. selling of our personal data.

pnjaban Facebook should pay every single person they sold data from

No more using misleading wording such as 'Sharing'. You are not 'Sharing' you're selling peoples confidential information 4 profit. And that claim should be pointed out 2 anyone signing up 2 Facebook or any Company 4 that matter that participates in the very harmful practice.

Not just Facebook but banks, credit cards/credit organizations & so many more that make the claim they are 'Sharing' our information. I called the Governor to say the Facebooks of the world should have to tell their customer quote, 'We Sell your personal information 4 profit'

Bingo!

“Find a way to make money off of it “ You mean sell the information outright

Do you think they service people for free? Or just make money from the ads? That is simple minded🙊

This scene in The Social Network pretty much told me what Facebook is all about, I'm not surprised they have betrayed their users' trust.

Stealing of personal information from private text messages should give everyone pause to consider quitting Facebook permanently QuitFacebook

Maybe not always, but yes - this is the currency Facebook deals in. This is not new news.

Maybe it's time to pull the plug on Facebook.

That’s why smart folks don’t use Facebook

What a booger tissue Zuckerberg is!

So Mark Zuckerberg is the equivalent of an 80’s stalker in a blacked out rape van following you to see what magazines you buy

why the medias always publish close up of ugly people ?

? omg ?

What an obnoxious, slappable face.

Don't destroy this man for me biko

This is very unsettling. 😒😐😑

NO SHIT
