Alberta Lt.-Gov. Salma Lakhani delivers Throne Speech focused on affordability, health-care reform, jobs, and fighting Ottawa
Yedlin argued the act does not allow for constructive conversations with the federal government and that all levels of government need to collaborate to make Alberta an attractive place to invest and to work, stating the province has to compete with jurisdictions from all corners of the globe.Article content
Yedlin said Quebec lost tons of investment when that province grappled with the idea of separation. She said that while Smith’s bill makes it clear it is not about separating, just the idea of uncertainty will cause investors to look elsewhere.Lisa Baiton, president and CEO of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, said they are taking time to review the bill with their members. She said they are concerned about any policy that has the potential to create uncertainty for investors.
Meanwhile, several groups that could fall under the ‘public entity’ definition of the act and could be subject to ministerial directives said they need to read the bill further before providing comment.
Where the hell did you get this garbage feed from. Alberta would explode with business without the parasite called Canada.
I support Premier Smith 100%. These Liberals can flee the province any time. Sounds great.
Not lockdowns, vaxpass, Arrivecan app, cancelled pipelines, mass seizure of property, frozen bank accounts, bill C-11, emergency act, uncontentested rail blockades, restrictions on fertilizers and a massive carbon tax though?nah, investors are totally fine with that.
Not as many investments as Trudeau and Notley have already scared off. In fact, it will more likely increase investment.
That’s quite a headline Author Dylan. If you knew wtf was going on in the world of business maybe you would have clued in by now. A pipeline company will now know that if they spend billions getting consultation and approvals that some Eako freako Lib won’t be able to kill it.
The Calgary sun now wearing the tinfoil hat?
Just more fear mongering,in what way would it scare off investment?
The Liberals are relentless with their attacks. I don't very much anybody would say that they're probably applauding that we're away from Ottawa.
Check out their Board of Directors--most of them are corporate PR flacks including some with fairly deep LPC connections. Very few brick and mortar businesses, no oilfield suppliers.
Get Smith out!!
You have nothing to base that on. Investment has run away from Alberta due to horrendous policy from albertaNDP under rachelnotley and liberal_party under PM Gropey McBlackface JustinTrudeau
Do you mean like the federal Emergencies Act scares off investment in Canada?
Oh yes. Didn’t the Chamber also say vaccine passports would help business in Calgary? They have zero credibility as far as I’m concerned.
