'I’ve realised that no one cares if you’re out for dinner on your own' 🍽️ dateyourself has become a social media phenomenon. emily_cope1 treats herself to a week of solo trysts to check it out

Ironically, I’m not alone in not wanting to be alone. A recent survey by language app Babbel found that more than half of Britons had never done and would be unwilling to do activities such as going to theme parks or seeing live music alone. . It wasn’t until I was walking home that I really noticed I was on my own, and only because I wanted to discuss the film with someone. My confidence boosted, I decided to kick things up a notch.

emily_cope1 FFS. Having a coffee or meal on your own is not a 'date'. I suspect the hashtag dateyourself is only popular as we are seeing steep rise in narcissism in certain demographics and where everything has to be seen through the lense of 'It's all about ME!'

emily_cope1 Only a week? That’s been my life for over a decade now!
