A key barometer for the health of the economy continues to flash a recession warning sign, indicating a downturn is in store for the US in the near future

America is not in an official recession — not yet, anyway — but the Conference Board’s Leading Economic Index declined for the 10th consecutive month, falling in December by 1% to 110.5, according to a report released Monday by the business think tank. Economists were expecting a decline of 0.7%, according to Refinitiv. On average, the index peaks about a year ahead of a recession, according to the Conference Board. The index appears to have peaked in February 2022, the Conference Board noted.

The official arbiter of a recession is a panel of National Bureau Economic Research economists, who take an array of economic indicators into consideration before making a determination — which can sometimes occur after a downturn has already begun.

Finally?

So weird that CNN is worried about this recession. This was the first time in a decade, my boss who owns a catering company gave all of her staff some type of bonus.

But, your wonderful messiah of a POTUS says everything is going great!

Especially that don lemon and that other nasty woman. One that looks like a man

Can’t you people do anything like tell the truth.. and here’s your douche bag

I think you all are a joke how many weeks did you report on trumps raid. But hardly cover Biden's documents problem your a bunch of leftist woke jokes. Wonder why your ratings are plummeting. Hope you all go away forever

How Big Tech's pandemic bubble burst | CNN BusinessIn January 2021, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella spoke in lofty terms about how the first year of the pandemic had sparked a staggering shift toward online services, benefiting his company in the process. 'What we have witnessed over the past year is the dawn of a second wave of digital transformation sweeping every company and every industry,' he said. This is a false narrative. Just like retail did during holidays, the tech industry hired contractors to build out a sustainable network when locked down. Now people are going back out and don't spend as much time indoors.
