San Mateo County has launched a task force to investigate the living conditions of local farmers after a mass shooting at two Half Moon Bay farms last month revealed that farmworkers were living in"crowded and unsanitary" housing.
"We understand many farmers and ranchers in the county are doing things the right way, providing legally permitted farmworker housing," said County Supervisor Ray Mueller, in a statement."But the goal must be 100% compliance, to find those living in the shadows, who need help.
