Fast fashion can be detrimental to the planet

A local artist aims to educate the masses on the social and environmental dangers of the fashion industry with her eye-catching 10-feet high Giant Jeans display in Lincoln.

Kerry said: “I see the fashion industry like a giant jigsaw puzzle; every part of the industry has a role to play, and every action has an impact on something else. “I am ‘educating through creativity’ and trying to engage the younger generation and help them see that even the small decisions we make can make a big difference.”

Lincoln Christmas Market was already '50,000 visitors beyond ideal capacity'Overcrowding and safety were the main concerns for organisers So make adjustments so overcrowding isn’t an issue. Are the council really that incompetent that they can’t think about that? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a major event which generates millions for the local economy being cancelled because it’s too popular. Absolute insanity Planned changes make absolutely perfect sense, as Bury St Edmunds found. A longer event, bringing in more visitors but over a longer period, with less overcrowding, less risk of weather cancellation & much greater comfort for everyone. More chance to access shops & stalls too.
