This appointment comes after current Prairie View A&M President Ruth Simmons announced on Feb. 10 she would step down at the end of February, earlier than originally planned.

McFrazier will begin his role on March 1 and will serve until

“Prairie View A&M University has an established legacy of achieving excellence in teaching, research, and service, and I will work assiduously to continue that legacy,” McFrazier said. “The importance of this job is humbling, and I am indeed honored to have been asked to serve.”
