Brittany and Matt Giesbrecht of The Speckled Sow Butchery & Market earned first place in the business impact category at Small Business BC Awards

The owners of a Vanderhoof butcher shop took home a top honour from the Small Business BC Awards on Sunday.

The award "recognizes a business that has taken positive action to invest in their community and views social responsibility as an integral part of their success," the SBBCA said in a statement."It goes to show that hard work and more hard work really do pay off," Matt Giesbrecht said in the statement. "The support of your community, family and friends goes a long way.
